This article analyses the actual connections between Jews and the Gestapo in Kraków in relation to the activities of the so-called “Diamant Network,” which allegedly consisted of Jewish undercover agents and informers. According to some claims made after the end of the Second World War, the network not only threatened the safety of Jews hiding on the “Aryan side,” but also posed a threat to the Kraków underground. The mythologized image of the so-called “Diamant Network” became surrounded by numerous legends, including the claim that it was an armed arm of the Gestapo focused on eliminating the local resistance movement. This article also seeks to address the myth that developed during the occupation concerning widespread Jewish collaboration in occupied Kraków and to examine the scale of this phenomenon, as documented in ZWZ/AK reports.
